2006 end of season showdown?

Do you guys think the championship will come down to the final round at Valencia? If so which of the top 5 riders (Nicky, Dani, Valentino, Loris and Marco) do you favor?

I personally hope Nicky will wrap it up before Valencia, because if it comes down to the final round...against Rossi...I just am not sure he has that killer instinct.

I think Nicky is going to start choking up near the end giving the last race a battle.. I hope Rossi and Pedrosa battle it out

I'd pay money to see a final round showdown between Pedrosa and Rossi.

HAIL TO THE KING!!

It certainly looks as though Dani & Rossi are the clear favs...

But lets take a closer look...

Rossi - Well the achiles heel for the champ is the bike this year. I am starting to see why Colin never got it together with the bike & it looks as though Rossi's freakyness isn't going to help the demons in his ride... we'll see.

Dani - Asimo can ride, he is comfortable with his bike & isn't willing to develop new bits (by all media accounts). He is on the most reliable bike & pushes very hard... if he keeps it on 2 wheels, he def has a chance If he continues to finish in front of Nicky.

Nicky - The kid is doing a heck of a job representing us, something I didn't think he was going to be able to do. But after the truth of the HRC monster leaked out, I now have a diff view of his talent... read this... http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2006/Aug/060822dr.htm
There maybe hope for Nicky yet... He's an American so I gots to root for him...

Ok... Now the spoilers. None of these guys can win the title unless something very dramatic happens, but they will be there to spoil the available points that up for grabs.

Roberts - The KR camps has made some leaps & bounds improvements since the switch to the Honda Mill. Def a top 5 contender.

Melandri - I have seen flashes of Rossi like greatness in his rides. Also a very strong top 5 contender.

Stoner - This mate can ride his ars off, ay. If he keeps it on two wheels, he's also a top 5 containda.

Capirossi - last but not least, this guy was tied in point with Nicky when he got hurt. His last ride was impressive, and 8sec lead to the win. Early on the Slipstone shod Ducati showed signs of competitiveness & with Loris Healthy it looked good yet again. I think Loris may have a win or two still left in him if the Slipstone can last a couple more races to the end...

MotoGP \ GP500 hasn't been this good in nearly 10 years...
