With Dani injured now, it seems that even if Nicky wins this year's title, it will have indeed been in large part to luck, and not a battle of who is the better rider in the race. Oh well, I can always hope that Nicky wins 2007 straight up.

Aww Jeez , not this shit again. How about it would be due to his awesome ability to race a motorcycle ? Keeping it on 2 wheels and finishing the race - THAT'S PART OF RACING. What racer couldn't get out there and ride beyond his or her means on the machines they're riding and high side it? Speed on the edge of losing control but maintaining control. That's what it's all about. If you're the fastest guy on the track for half the race but you outride your own ability and bin the bike , well guess what , evidently you weren't the best rider out there , you couldn't even finish the race. I get so tired of people wanting to point out the bad luck of different riders instead of giving credit where it's due to the riders that aren't suffering the bad luck.

Jamie Hacking said it best this past weekend on the podium at Road Atlanta. He said " you know , I hate it that Roger's bike had problems , he was giving us a good fight for sure and would have been right there at the end, but you know , with my bike and Yamaha this year, we've not lost any engines, we've been able to finish our races and that's just simply part of racing. It's all part of the game. " ( He was referring to the Supersport Race that Roger blew his engine in , and he and Roger had been swapping the lead for a few laps ).

To each his own I guess , you guys can call it bad luck or whatever you want. I call the position Nicky's in right now " earned ". It's a team effort , and that team has kicked everyone else's ass so far this season.

I said, "in the race". I know Nicky has tons of skill to not crash often, but I just wish he would get a couple more chances for straight up racing so he could shut everyone up about not being good enough. I want to see him beat A) Rossi B) Marco C) Dani in heads up fights for the win before the season is finished.
