Moto GP of Shanghai.

Rumours about the event being canceled have surfaced, rumours and talk about riders protests against China as well and the on going battle of the racers and brands will heat up even more with the new talk about HRC bringing their new air assisted valve mechanism engine to China for Pedrosa and Hayden to run if they like.

Rossis current form as the best Bridgestone rider will be interesting to follow when we reach Bridgestone country from before. Will he be able to keep the place as Bridgestone No1 or was that down to other factors? Will Stoner bounce back or keep acting like the baby he is? Will Michelins advantage continue? Will de Puniet crash and Melandri sob?

Little more than a week to go but I say it is time for some yellow. Rossi wins heading Pedrosa and Stoner. Edwards will qualify great and race poorly, Hopkins will crash and West round up the field and talk about finding his way/pace or what ever. Only thing he will find soon is the way to the door.

In the two stroke classes Bautista will rule supremy and the question is if Alex Debon will manage to get that beatiful black Aprilia to the finish line or not....

The Tiddler class will prove what a loss Sito Pons was to the MotoGP grid as his team will continue to dominate. Will Bradley Smith stop crashing and was it a fluke to have Bonsey doing well?

Keep em coming!

i hope the riders go out on track and make a visible protest about the whole china/tibet disgrace... much like the band midnight oil made a memorable and inescapable protest about australia's treatment of the indigenous people during the opening ceremony of the olympic games in sydney...

personally, i'm looking forward to dani, vale, casey and jorge getting out there and, hopefully, giving us a close ending to a race!

prejudices are what fools use for reason

On motogp.com where is the schedule for the race weekend?

I've been searching for the past 2 minutes and can't find it.

I think the place is like a casino now....they made it confusing on purpose so people wouldn't be able to leave. Unbelievable how non-user friendly that place is now.

I highly doubt the round will get cancelled, but you may see a protest or two. Maybe. Most of the GP riders are under contract not to do stuff like that, and I'm not sure that any of them feel strongly enough about China/Tibet that they'll lay their career down for it. Who knows.

Naw....Hopper will finish around 5th. He's been getting better every week. The HRC bikes are going to suffer with the "new" engine (if they use it), and top speed will go to the GP8s. I think this will be Stoner's week.

yea I'd call Stoner for this one.

I'm thinking Loris gets himself into hot water with the Chinese authorities too.

HAIL TO THE KING!!

I think either Stoner, Rossi, or Lorenzo. Rossi put up a good fight last year and the M1 is much better off this year. He's been doing well and I think it's about time for him to win again. Stoner should be back to form though, unless his problems are further into his mind. Ducati have got to get the other 3 riders into better positions and that may be taking the focus off of Stoner just enough to impact his performance.

Lorenzo should do well here too. He's coming off of that win and looking to set the world on fire. Pedrosa might crack trying to overtake him.

I don't think the race will be canceled. I've only seen that on one site, and it was more of a what if. Rossi already stated his support and said something about a silent protest, which is about as far as they can go. Since, as he also said, they don't want to all be arrested on arrival. Personally? This is racing, not politics. Keep that for after they leave the country so it doesn't impact the championship in a negative way. It's a world sport, and China is part of that world this year.

So, my extremely premature top 3?
Rossi
Lorenzo
Stoner

I'll change that around 100 times before the race starts though.

I've no doubt Stoner will return to the top spot here. This is a track that suits the Ducati, unlike the last two rounds, if last year results are of any indication of what's to come.

Rossi will continue to improve, but let's face it... if he thought he was going to return to his dominating self with the rubber change, he's getting a reality check. With the success Michelin's had so far, Rossi prob would've had 2 wins by now in the very least... perhaps his "loss of confidence" is real regardless of rubber...

I hope Hopper is back to 100% and the injury doesn't get in the way of his consistency over the race distance.

I hope the Honda mill has the top end needed for this track, would like to see Nicky get his best result yet. Hopefully, this is his last year with Honda. I am ready to see how he does on a diff team.

Jorge & Dani seem to be the real deal thus far... we'll see if they can do better than they did in Qatar on tracks the Ducati is in its element.

Colin... get it right already man.

Yeah. Shanghai will be very interesting with regards to both the strengths of Michelin vs Bridgestone and the battle between Duacti and Yamaha/Honda.
I think it will be tighter than last year and I hope it will be a battle to the very end.

Hayden, Hopkins and Edwards will cartwheel in to th egravel, maybe all at once.

In your dreams dingo humper.
Stonerīs got to be the no1 pick for the win though. He will be pissed of, hard to beat and the bike/tyres suit the track. On th other hand it would be fun to see some more angry waving at other riders.

I'm gonna call one of the Kawi's to have the highest top speed, they have once or twice this season already during practise, and I think in a race too.

Hopper hopes to podium again here... I hope he pulls it off. That would be interesting if the kawi can post higher top speeds than the Ducs'.

Wooooooohaa!
That was a massive highside for Lorenzo. Apparently broke his right ankle in the spill. Too bad and I hope he will be back asap.
Rossi looks good as well as Stoner.

So far Hopper is 5th lap time wise, but way down in 13th top speed. Thats unusual as they are normally much closer to the top of the speed traps.

More and more rumours around Melandri swapping to Kawasaki and West gettign the boot. Makes sense to me. Nicola Canepa, Alex Barros or Max Biaggi are rumoured to get the other Ducati with Barros being the most logical choice. Some rumours say that West and Tamada will swap seats.
