I can't say for sure yet, that weekend is my wife's bday, but I do hope to make it out for atleast one day, if not camping out for the weekend.

bumpity.

Green Envy? what's the word man?

I'm calling today to see about camping, likely I'll be ordering my tickets this week.

If anybody else is coming we'll have to get a fire and some food and beer together.

I'll find out if my wife is working that day or not. I'll probably come for at least one day, doubt I'll do the camping thing though as I'm doing that 2 weeks later @ mid-ohio.

sure thing, remember it's a double header. I'm trying to decide if I wanna run out Friday and catch the superpole and camp for the weekend or if I'm better off just going on Saturday, camping saturday night and splitting on Sunday.

Tricks to winning at Mosport: speed speed and more speed.

lap record stands at 173kph average speed, think it'll rise this year?

Well, I'm almost certain I'll be there for 1 day now. It's also looking like I'll be there camping. A buddy is having a stag there for the weekend.

Thatīs pretty fast but it doesnīt look that fast on the vid, nice walls everywhere though....especially if you are doing 170+km/h average speed...

yea it's a honkin fast racetrack. And ya... When you crash at Mosport you hurt for a very very long time. If I was rich and famous I'd buy it up and open out the runoff.

Kinda surprising in my mind, good for Peris, guess that WSS experience is paying off, we'll see if he can hold it together during the race. Lacomb is a surprise too, he's actually doing ok in the title this year, might be a threat, which is a real shock to me. Maybe he's finding some maturity and losing his Quebecois "seeing red" attitude, Good thing too, we need a strong French influence in the series, Francis seems to be thinking more about home life these days.

The Kid from Saskatoon beating the Brantford brat, a sign of things to come? we'll see, it's only Qualy and Szoke doesn't take too much shit from him during the race, but it'll be interesting. I'll try to be stationed either down by Mosses or up at the top of the Andretti straight, depending on how the sightlines are.

Not a bad run by Marie-Joseé, hopefully she can put it together and get into the top 10 for the race.

Pretty clear divide in lap times between the haves and have nots, bike wise. Speaks legions about the effectiveness of the "Daytona superbike" package at cutting down costs.

Superbike superpole results to come when I get 'em.

wtf Peris was on provisional pole going into superpole? guess he goofed!

Lacomb looks to be on a mission this weekend, this'll be a good show.

Question is, will Jordan try to fight him? or back off and let Lacomb run rabbit? Generally Jordan will only fight guys he thinks are a threat in the championship, and generally Lacomb isn't one of them. This year maybe he is.

back from the track now.

Spoke at length with MJ Boucher, she's a cool cat, busts ass at a dayjob to pay for it all, no factory support and since there's no Quebec round anymore her sponsors are few and far between.

Chatted with Jordan's mum a bit regarding Peris too, dumb kid was doing a burnout on his victory lap. The day after he gets knocked back to 9th when he should have had pole, because his bike ran out of fuel on the dyno. Slow learner I guess. Martin actually turned a tire down far enough that it read over the hp limit. Atleast that's what Scotty Miller was claiming, whether it's true or not... I have my doubts, I think it was over anyways. But whatever, c'est la vie.

Talked to Steve "Squiddy" Crevier for a second, bitching about there not being a round on the west coast anymore, and Calgary likely gone too. I asked if he thought Mission would ever be able to host a SBK event and he said "community noise issues aside, there's not enough run-off, and they can't extend the runoff 'cause it's blocked by the bush, the bush is holding back the river from eroding away the whole f*cking track, so that can't go either." I asked him how he felt about the Buell and he basicly said that being down 50hp at this track, you're fucked nomatter how good your set-up was, and the bike has set-up issues ontop of being down 50hp, faaaaaaaantastic. He was doing a damned good job of "park it on the apex then tractor it off the corner" tho, but still, asoon as you get to Andretti straightaway (1km long and uphill, 10% grade at places, I wind the shit out of myself just hiking up it.)

I also asked him how he felt about Jordan likely taking the all time superbike win record from him this year, he said "I don't care about wins, never have cared about wins, I don't even know how many I have" (I told him here, it's 26) "Jordan does, he's that kind of guy, and power too him, I'm just not the kind of guy that really cares about this "all time" stuff, someday it'll be beaten." that actually made me say something along the lines of "that's a really west coast attitude" which brought us around to the whole track thing. Squiddy's from Vancouver, for anybody that didn't know that. Guess I should have mentioned that at the beginning. He's also about the size of Dani Pedrosa, I swear to god he's not up to my nipple, not by a long shot.

Also talked to Brett for a second, poor guy bruised a lung on Saturday. Anyhow I asked him if he's got WSBK aspirations, he got all misty eyed and said "I'd love to" I asked him about GP he said "that too" I asked which he'd prefer and he said "I dunno, I'm still young and it's a long ways in the future."

He's 17 and I think it's closer than he thinks if he keeps on the learning curve he's on, altho he might be in trouble for a GP ride, he's only a couple of inches shorter than me, i'm 6'5. I don't know forsure but I'd not be surprised if he's 6'1.

perhaps SBK's is the better path to pursue, much as I'd love to see a Canadian in GP (other than "I was winning races on a yellow and purple bike while you where in diapers" DuHammel, who's lived in Vegas the last 10 years.)
