Grand Premi Cinzano di Catalunya.

Youve got to love this. GP races on consecutive weekends. What could be better? Well, actually me learning to ride my own bloody bike for instance. Anyway, Ill take the GP instead.

Will the 125 class be as fierce and crazy as last time around? I hope so as the last laps was some of the best racing I have seen for quite some time. Seven guys within a shout of the victory and they crossed the line within eight tenths of each other - WSBK and WSS eat your heart out.
Pol Espargaro is on home soil and judging from Mugello he will be out for victory. Terol and Di Meglio head the frog attack, I keep a few fingers crossed for di Meglio as he is racing for the Finnish team Ajo Motorsports. Corsi is of course always a threat or will brit boy - as red headed as only a brit can be - Bradley Smith finally take to the top step?

In 250s all eyes will be on Simonchelli vs Barbera and if Bautista actually will keep it upright for the whole race....
Kind of behind all the stuff going on Mika Kallios is racking up the points with very solid rides, bring it home and win when you can. Works wonders so far. I hope and think that Bautista will win this weekend.

No pneumatic engines from the Evil Empire. Hayden sulking and Pedrosa gunning for home victory? The bookies will not give much money back if you bet on a four horse race including Rossi, Pedrosa, Stoner and Por Fuera.
Judging from the fact that Mugello is Rossis most succesful track during his career with eleven podiums and his stellar performance in Italy it would be hard to bet against him. Montmelo and Mugello are also quite similar tracks as far as layout and corners are considered.
Will Pedrosa ever be able to outbrake Rossi? I doubt it but last year at Monmelo he actually did that twice during the race so he might spring a surprise and win it in another fashion than leading from start to finish.
Por Fuera is getting stronger and stronger and he is fast at this track, his pole time from last year on the 250 was faster than anyone managed to ride this track on a 500. He can pass and outbrake people so I say that he will outbrake Stoner with a ballsy move on the last lap and grab the final spot on the podium - much to the delight of the Spanish fans.
Stoner will be off the box or second. He is getting faster and faster and seems to be using more time to set up the bike and ride fast than complaining about other riders, tyres, his crew, bike or ham sandwich.

So how will our American friends fare? I dont know but I guess Colin will be top man again and Hopkins struggling with the green machine - again. Hayden can be anything from fifth through thirteenth. Hard to tell how much the recent struggling has bothered him or can he get down and just wring the neck of the bike in anger of HRC not being able to build an engine without springs?

So.
1. Rossi
2. Pedrosa
3. Por Fuera
4. Stoner
5. Edwards

ugh, if Bautista could just keep the stupid thing upright and intact I'd be a happy man, much less winning the f*cking race.

Allwell, as they say "you can teach a crasher not to crash, you can't teach someone slow to be fast."

Mikka's championship is starting to remind me of Roberts in 2000. When the wins are getting split 5 ways all you have to do is keep in the chase and bag a couple when you've got a good bike.

I'm hoping Stoner has started to get his head screwed on properly again and can start getting some decent points.

HAIL TO THE KING!!

Pole position: Valentino Rossi ITA Fiat Yamaha (M) 1min 41.840secs
Fastest lap: John Hopkins USA Rizla Suzuki (B) 1min 43.252secs

Stoner ran off the track twice and crashed once. Apparently Ducati are bringin the GP09 bike for the tests on monday/tuesday.

One thing not in Rossis favour is the special livery they are running. He has only managed to win once with teh M1 in special designs. Crashes and podiums for the rest of them.

Jorge pitched the M1 down the track again, looks like a Dani and Vale fight. welp, just read that Lorenzo is officially out of the race with a concussion he suffered in his crash today

Lorenzo definately out of sundays race, what a sahme.
Capirossis time is good but he is not able to do enough 1.43s as he only did three and the second fasteest was half a second down.
Pedrosa, Rossi and Stoner are the ones that consitently are putting in the 1.43s and then De Angelis, Vermeueln, Toseland and a few others are doing it more than once durign the session.

Bautistacrashed today, and Espargaro on provisional pole for tomorrow, as I told you.

Looking forward to tomorrows action.

He might do. But he is one stubborn, single minded little bugger so I guess his self confidence is unharmed.

ya that's the one thing that has amazed me about him, I kinda thought his self confidence (massivly overinflated imo) would take bigger hits when he went down.

or in other words, I thought it'd only take 1 hit to do it, it's taken 3.

Yeah I remember your remarks about him crumble when fighting with the big boys.
If it was up to him I am sure he would be back on the bike tomorrow...

Those crashes of Lorenzo and Hopkins sound horrible.

Here's to a quick recovery for both.

They weren't the worst I've seen, but they were rough. Hard to top Shinya's 320kph wreck three years ago.

Hopper should be back. Sucks about Lorenzo though. Factory Yamaha hasn't had so many crashed bikes in years. Rossi and Edwards were good a keeping it rubber side down. I hope his career doesn't just fizzle cause of the injuries....like to see him win a few more races.

ya I didn't think his ego would be able to deal with an off the box finish.

That said, he hasn't really been both feet off the box yet. We'll see how he does, he's a lot tougher than I thought he'd be tho, I'll give him credit for that.

Rossi fielded a new helmet as well as the leathers, aimed to make him look like a football player. Fun stuff, wish more of the other riders did stuff like this.

You know a rider is pretty banged up if the Clinica Mobile wont let him back up on the bike again. Apparently the concussion was the worst thing and his feet was pretty much ok. Hard little bugger.
