Exclamation One-make MotoGP tyre rule to be confirmed in Japan?

Of course it is still a speculation, but the odds are pretty high...

One-make MotoGP tyre rule to be confirmed in Japan - Motorcycle Sport

Quote:
Although it is believed that Michelin will bid for the contract, the overwhelming support for Bridgestone will tip the balance in the Japanese company’s favour. MCN understands that the tyres will be supplied to teams free of charge, but they will have to pay for tyres to test with, though final details will be thrashed out at the Twin Ring Motegi this weekend.

I looked around on a few other sites and found nothing about this.

When it's MCN is has to be true

How?

I still think it could tighten things up, which could result to better racing.

well every rider will still be developing independantly, the bridgestones that Hopkins uses are very different from the Bridgestones Casey uses, just as an example. For a real spec tire you gotta go the WSBK way and say "here's the 4 tires, a soft, a medium, a hard, and a wet. Have at it."

Not having riders develope along their own ways.

Albeit the black helo michelins aren't as prevalent as they used to be, but there's still a lot of possibility for the tire manufacturer to favour one guy over the other, develope his tires better/faster than the guy sucking the hind tit.

HAIL TO THE KING!!
