SO Spies on the yami is like Stoner on the Duc. I guess he's the only one who can make it fast.

So far, it's early in the season tho, and there's only the 2 of them there. It could also just be that Sykes sucks, or isn't used to the bike yet.

I just hope we don't get the same run of crap we got with Stoner. "It's not him it's the bike!" "where are his teammates then?" "well he's the only one that can make it fast."

how does that make it not just him?

Spies is a better rider than Sykes but I think Sykes will be closer to the top, his wildcards last year proved he is good for a podium finish.
I am just amazed that we have more Kawasakis than Yamahas in the series.

Spies on todays session.

"Today went pretty good, the result will be more important Saturday but every time I come to the track with Yamaha the bike is getting better and it's already such a fun bike to ride" declared Spies. "The team's working really good, but there are so many people that are fast out there that if you have just an OK session you end up behind. It's going to be a tough year, but we're clicking off session by session and we'll see where we're going to end up."

How awesome is Ben Spies??? I think he's definitely getting the bike tuned in and I think we might start seeing him put some distance between him and second earlier and earlier with each race as he gets as comfortable with the R1 as he was with the Gixxer. I think Ben's going to become a Yamaha boy for life after this season. A lot of racers talk about what a great family Yamaha is and I think Ben's experiencing that family atmosphere now and it will only make him a better and faster rider.

He has already said he wants to stay with Yamaha and that is his first option regardless of WSBk or MotoGP.

Rea misjudged what pace he needed to have to get through to the second part of Superpole so he was edged out in the last minute or so and didn´t have enough time to respond.

Damn... Spies must think he is still in the AMA.

Haga better step it up or the Rookie is going to ruin his chance at a title this year. That said, I don't think Haga's had as good result in those tracks in the past has he?

Looks like I was about right on the '09 R1, down a couple ponies, it's got more traction than I thought it would tho. Brilliant to use a V8 style crank like that. parts bin solution that is REALLY working.

It could just be the Elbowz effect too tho, Ben's GSXR always was down a touch top-end on Mat's too, I assume on account of Ben being bigger across the shoulders.

That Aprilia definitely has some snark, Biaggi is/will be a title threat if developement continues on that thing at the rate it's going.

Dude's destined never to win a championship. I feel bad for him but I really think it's true. S'not the first time I've said it either.

I just think that if he was gonna get one, he'd have gotten one by now.
