WSBK - Misano Adriatico ***Spoilers***

The WSBK circus hits San Marino and Misano Adriatico.
Spies fastest in Fp1 but was edged by Fabrizio for provisional pole. The other Yankees at the bottom of the table, as suspected due to recent injuries and/or not knowing the track.

One interetsing thing is that Ten Kate Racing are testing Öhlins suspension alongside their regular WP suspension. Apparently the riders are pleased with the Öhlins suspension. It would be a pretty big loss for WP if they switch to Öhlins.

Ben Spies, Yamaha World Superbike Team (2nd, 1'37.102)
"It was a good first day for us, the second session we opted to run race set up and we never put any new tyres on. A race is 22 laps around here, on the 22nd lap today we were half a second off the fastest lap done here. I'm pleased with that and we ran our whole race simulation in the 37's. I'm ecstatic about the bike and tomorrow if it stays dry we know we've got a good package. We know if we put sticky tyres on it's definitely going to go fast. If it rains, I guess we get some good rain time and go play in the rain. It's still tough for us coming and learning these new tracks so I'm glad we picked it up as quickly as we did. There is still some more settings to find to be more comfortable but the speed is there. If it is wet then I hope we'll be up there too, I don't have as much time on this bike in the wet but I like riding in the rain."

Apparently Hopkins seems no reason to race due to lack of pace, has crashed or is in to much pain as he is not out for FP2.

No eight pole for Spies as Smrz and Rea manage to beat him. He just missed out to get across the line in time for a final lap before the checkered flag.

Not since Scott Russell has an American rookie looked this good in the world stage.

Let's just hope that his GP move isn't on a Suzuki or he might just quit shining.

Considering that Ben seems to be a bit of a stubborn man I think that Suzuki will have to really work their hats off to sign him. He has also said how welcome he felt at Yamaha and how how much he likes his new team so I guess he´ll be at Yamaha for a while.

There's only 2 people in the world that can get Ben back to Suzuki. Don Sakakura and/or Pops Yosh himself, but since Pops Yosh has been dead nearly 10 years that pretty much leaves it up to Don.

not doubting anyone , but I've heard a few people talk about spies one day going back to suzuki why? what is the connection between him and a suzuki gp ride. wouldn't that bridge have already been burnt enough that a yamaha gp ride would make more sense.
and since yamaha and honda and Ducati are the only teams who are historically able to win (at least in the fourstroke era )
and Yamaha is a very solid GP ride right now why would Spies ever in a million years give suzuki a chance?
I like spies in wsbk so if he stays that is good enough for me , but I would like him get his full meal deal too.
suzuki is not really a strong motogp player IMO.

I very much doubt he'd go to Suzuki MotoGP, they had their chance and blew it. But if Yoshimura pack up shop in the AMA and come to WSBK, I could see him going back to them.

If he goes MotoGP he'd be stupid to go on anything other than a Yamaha, it's far and away the best bike out there at the moment.

In the new Motorcycle Racer there is an article about Spies and they write about how pissed of he is at Suzuki and how they handled him so he ain´t going back in a long time.

Damn... kid can't get a break.
Haga gets another break... not that he doesn't deserve it though. Haga has lost two titles to unfortunate events in the past.

Someone tell Byrne that there was a race going on, in race 1? lol

Haga seems to have the on/off switch working well this year as well.... WTF either get up there and win or stay off the bike.... I'm so tired of rooting for Haga only to be let down.

Go Ben!

I'm really not getting a good impression of the R1 from it's performances so far...
