Sachsenring GP thread. ***Spoilers**

So the German track is up next. Can Pedrosa keep the momentum from Laguna Seca or will Stoner be back and dominate as he did last year. nicky has been doing fine at Sachsnering but can he get the Ducati fast enough through the first part of teh track to be competitive? Will Lorenzo be back and beat Rossi or will the Doctor make it #101?

**********************
At Sacshenring we have two Swedish riders as wild cards in the 250cc class in the shape of Robin Hlen and Joakim Stensmo. They are one and two in the Swedish national 250cc championship but are really in at the deep end. I really hope they can qualify for the race as that would be a great achievement. Toby Markham will race for Jaap Kingmaa racing on their Aprilia and a german guy called Marcel will also race. Joakim will have #66 and Robin #67.
Here are some pictures of the rebuild of Joakim Stensmos TSR Honda owned and maintained by Henrik Nordgren who is a real enthusiast and I am very happy for him getting his bikes on the grid. Robin Hhlen will ride his RSV250 Aprilia.
Nordgren has managed to get hold of lot of special engine parts for the race, kit cranks, cylinders etc and they hope to be down about 15 km/h on the top bikes. the engine is fitted with the same engine parts as Pedrosa had when he won his last 250cc title, minus the ignition if I am correct.

The wild card teams are allowed in to the apddock about this time today so we really hope they have a great week end, enjoy themselves and learn a lot from the fastest guys in the world.

Picture of the kit engine with the special HRC con rods - a whooping 8000 each..

Kit cylinder.

Fairings waiting for some gloss and shine.

Joakim Stensmos face when he is told what the bearings in the engine cost.

Magnesium gaswire housin (dont knwo what it is called in english..)

Sprocket holder. Special parts, of course.

Not as many flashy stickers as the factory guys but hopefully the other three wild cards will see this side of Joakim.

Henrik Nordgren warming the spare bike.

the fuel that keeps Nordgren running the whole night.... A little competiton if you can tell what is special with the fairing to the right?

Ill post more pictures when I get them.

sweet, I've actually been keeping loose track of Joakim for awhile. Be interesting to see how he does.

Lack of kit ignition makes me wonder tho, why not go with a standalone management system? $2-3k tops, and can give full fuelling, ignition and TC/wheelie control.

I am not sure what ignition they run only that they dont run the HRC stuff that pedrosa used.

Jocke has some talent and as a former motocrosser he likes to jump. this is from Knutstorp last year.

I don't get excited over any cylinder less than 400cc in size.

Some guys like to play with engines with pistons the size of toonies, I prefer mine the size of a pint glass.

can't say, I'll be at 'sport.

I think Pedrosa will be a threat but odds are a Yamaha 1-2.

Debon looks to have a good race set-up, but I figure it'll come down to Bauti and Hiro.

hayden and stoner were looking good throughout most of the fp1, and even though hayden finished 8th he was only .588 off of stoner whoses lap broke the lap record by like 2 tenths so it would seem he's improving

It'll be the usual suspects at the front. Free Practice doesn't mean a whole lot. Capirossi and several others regularly run well in FP, but go back to sucking hind tit as race day approaches.

watching fp2 on live timing now.......................really nice to see nicky up towards the top!!!!!!!

wow nicky finished the session 4th and had 3rd right up till the last lap by pedrossa. I know it means nothing but when was the last time hayden finished a practice session with a time faster then rossi??

yea he's never been this close to caseys time consistently like this, so practice or not gotta give him credit and he seems to do better in the race then he does in practice anyway.... and he toke forth in qp right behind stoner on his backup bike so i think its safe to say he found something at this round

I am really hoping that he continues to improve... I never felt he got a fair treatment @ Honda and this would help confirm that...

But from all I've read so far this year... Ducati has really gone out of their way to accommodate Nicky despite him not being their #1 rider. So Nicky really needs to put up or shut up now, as I think this is prob going to be his best chance to show his stuff in his GP career.

true but i think thats a little harsh because its not like the ducati has been performing well in all other riders hands, so i dont think it should be put up or shutup until that actually happens, like for example JT hes the only rider of the 4 yamahas that has consistently done poorly and always has an excuss, while all other riders are having great performances even colins sorry ass lol

It was just on here in the states.... It was one of the best races of the year for sure... great to see the top four riders all together midway through the race and not one of them was in front by 10 seconds....

It's been a great year in GP so far and the best is yet to come as nerves start to come into play at the end of the year.

what the hell, there was 10 seconds breaking up the podium.

Jorge needs to learn how to lose, crying in parce ferme isn't helping his odds of getting that pay raise he's after.

One thing I will say for Vale is he does know how to accept defeat gracefully, something he's learned in the last couple of years I think.
