I think Rossi has the pace to break everyone up front if he nails the start.

he's not the first guy to have that problem with that bike either.

headstock's got too much lateral stiffness maybe, that carbon fiber set-up is very wide towards the top, and lateral stiffness grows with the cube of the distance from centerline iirc. I wondered if that was gonna be an issue, seems like lately they're going for nooooo lateral stiffness but as much torsional and vertical as they can get their hands on. With Kallio hanging off as much as he does tho, I'm not sure that's a good thing, chassis needs some extra lateral strength to support the fact that the bike is making higher G for the same lean angle (lean angle on the contact patch/steering head plane, not the contact patch/CG plane, which is hugely affected by him hanging off it as much as he does.)

Nick has struggled with the same problem. Casey doesn't seem to have it but Casey's taken to relying on a lot more countersteering than I would consider healthy and a lot less CG shift.

watching the amount casey countersteers tho, he's inducing a massive roll moment, I think he NEEDS that torsional stiffness just to keep the forks from bending torsionally an increasing the trail to a retarded amount when the bike is leaned in.

That said, chassis shit isn't my pidgin, I'm an engine guy.

Rossis answer to the question if there is an increased problem with people coasting around to get a tow was funny.
Something like this.
"For me it is ok if Gresini pay me som emoney at the end of the year as it is always De Angelis and Elias."

You sure wouldn't want to bet against Rossi at Misano, especially after last weekend.

hmm i guess elias bike isnt getting as much factory backing as he was lead to believe as dani once again toped the speed charts with ease

speaking of top speed i didnt even notice that capirex toped all of the yamahas, 3 of the ducatis and all the hondas except dani and elias and de angelis.... o and this just in de angelis may be signing with tech 3 next year taking over tojams seat and edwards is expected to stay

Thing is, that I'd bet that a new headstock would help both Nick and Mika.

but it wouldn't help Stoner, and he'd be right pissed (rightfully so, what has anybody else done for Ducati lately?)

I get it that they're trying to make the bike more rider friendly and all, but last time I checked the #1 rider got to make the developement calls and the #2 and 3 and 437 rider are supposed to adjust their riding style to match rider #1, or deal with a bike that's not set up for them.

Not that that's necessarily right, but I can understand Casey being frustrated at them designing a bike to work for somebody other than him.

Dani and Capirex are also the lightest guys out there and the longest straight at Misano, isn't terribly long.

Suzuki had better pull something out mighty quick or I'm gonna be pissed. If they wreck Bauti's career, that's unforgivable. That guy is the biggest talent I've seen coming in the GP stream in many years, at the very least the biggest talent since Pedrosa, maybe ever.

Fights like a lion, and hasn't always had the benefit of the best equipment out there the way Pedrosa did, and Rossi to a lesser extent.

De Angelis hit edwards, they went down, clipped Lorenzo and Hayden. Lorenzo was a light hit, managed to stay up and continue. Edwards called De Angelis a dumbass Italian
