Tech 3 has also announced their rider and team line up for their Moto2 team.

Riders will be Raffaele De Rosa and Yuki Takahashi.
daniele Romagnoli, Lorenzos crew chief, will be crew chief for De Rosa and Gary Reynders, Toselands crew chief, will be crew chief for Takahashi.

Looks like a very strong team to me. The bike is developed by Tech 3 themselves with "the Mad Professor" Guy Coulon at the helm.

Spies incorporated into Tech 3 team on Monday
Monday, 09 November 2009

After his wildcard ride in Sterilgarda Yamaha Team colours on Sunday Ben Spies was officially welcomed into the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team in testing at Valencia on Monday.

After his impressive wildcard ride to seventh place on Sunday at Valencia Ben Spies tested for the first time with his new team Monster Yamaha Tech 3 on Monday at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, getting his first sample of life in the pit-box of Herve Poncharal’s successful satellite squad, alongside fellow Texan Colin Edwards.

Indeed, such was Spies’ immediate pace on James Toseland’s 2009 Yamaha M1 the American’s best time was the sixth quickest on Monday. Spies was only 0.8s behind fastest rider Casey Stoner’s test pace and was a massive 0.6s better than his own fastest lap in Sunday’s race.

The 25-year-old completed 50 laps making it a positive and productive first day with Tech 3. He commented afterwards, “I was obviously on a different bike but with the same setting that I raced on and it felt good. I improved on my qualifying time so it was a positive and productive day. I really just focused on doing a couple of things different with my style and in the last two sessions I tried to do some things very different and it worked.”

“I was slowly able to chip away at the lap times, so it is encouraging that I'm getting faster and more comfortable without even making any changes to the set-up of the bike. We'll make some changes to the bike tomorrow, more for me to see what I can feel, than looking for big improvements.”

“It’s really hard to take an angry man seriously when he’s wearing a bathrobe.” - Carl Fogarty

The top speed #'s isn't what I'm concerned with, it's getting it off the line well and having good drive in the midrange, I expect he'll lunge off the corner due to better weight transfer, then suffer in the midrange 'cause of mass and make some back up on top due to aero.

Where it's really gonna hurt is at the line tho, be the opposite of Pedrosa.

well hopefully his launching talents that he's shown in the past will make up the difference, and im sure they can change up the mapping a lil to help with mid range

or gearing, but either way will have an effect on fuel consumption which is pretty critical these days.

I hope he stomps 'em anyhow tho. And if I know Ben at all he won't much care that he's starting from the back foot.

9 65 Loris Capirossi Suzuki 1'33.211 1.272
10 33 Marco Melandri Honda 1'33.326 1.387
11 41 Aleix Espargaro Ducati 1'33.345 1.406
12 4 Andrea Dovizioso Honda 1'33.546 1.607
13 40 Hector Barbera Ducati 1'34.206 2.267
14 58 Marco Simoncelli Honda 1'34.230 2.291
15 19 Alvaro Bautista Suzuki 1'34.540 2.601
16 400 Hiroshi Aoyama Honda 1'35.261 3.322
17 00 Toni Elias Gresini Moto2 1'37.279 5.340
18 9 Kenny Noyes Promoracing Moto2 1'37.881 5.942
19 00 Xavier Simeon Gresini Moto2 1'38.979 6.040
20 5 Joan Olive Promoracing Moto2 1'39.266 7.327
21 Axel Pons Pons Kalex 1'39.9 7.9

The most interesting thing is that the Ducati GP10 is not a screamer but a "V-twin" and apparently sounds exactly like the Yamaha.
The Honda is also brand new while the Yamaha appraently has a new chassis and upgrades to the engine like the electronic package.

CE was ill with a Virus an had to sit on the sidelines

Yamaha have mentioned as have others about the getting away from the Startline situation needing improving so its on there 2010 shopping list

I can't help but be so impressed with Spies , I just hope Tech 3 get any updates to there 2010 Bike during next seasons races ASAP rather than a few races after the Works team does

New GP10 Ducati is a Big Bang engine Stoner is allready happy with it mentioning he can go into the corners deeper on the throttle and open the Throttle earlier on the Exit , so similar to the Yamaha and what Rossi mentioned when Yamaha went over to the Big Bang Version

Looks like Spies can Tuck in well on the Yamaha fine
