US Announcers

Is it just me or does it send a spine tingling chill up your spine when they broadcast the GPs with the American announcers? Now dont get me wrong i am an American and a member of the US military so i am proud but they just sound so stupid when they call the races, usually they have a former rider up there and i cant remember who to save my life right now but he does an ok job but the other guy they have in there which is the one you usually hear the most is god awful! is it just me or do you feel the same way?

I watch the eurosport version .
the different (english) dialect of the announcers is almost as entertaining as as what they are saying .
I'm speaking of regional variations or accents -
has permanently changed the way my friends and I pronounce nicky haydens name , well maybe every racer for that matter.

Actually Jorge is Catalan so "Lorentho" is technically the correct pronunciation.

the thing w other broacasters (eurosports, bbc, motogp) vs speed's is that they're into the sport and will do research and know the craft. for instance, toby and julian when they're not commentating on gp, are writing articles, talking w people in the paddock, etc they're fans first and it shows.

if there's a lull in the action they'll go into some of the behind the scenes stuff that you'd normally wouldn't be privy to.

speed broadcaster(s) will commentate ONLY on what action they see and have a "show up and wing it" attitude.

OR they commentate on the most mundane shit that everyone knows or should know. Like why so and so made such a tire choice.

Wow he picked a soft tire so he's trying to get an early lead? you don't fucking say, what other pearls of wisdom you got in that box?

Toby Moody and Julian Ryder are awesome on Eurosport but that boring twat Neil Spalding ruins their broadcasts for me. He always sounds so freakin' bored and monotone that I can't stand it. Best combination by far right now is Jamie Whitham and Jack Burnicle's commentating on the WSBK races - very informed and downright hilarious sometimes.

I actually like Spalding's insights, but I'm a super technical guy so that figures. But yes he's monotonic for sure.

And yea, Whitham and Burnicle are by far the best out there right now.
