MotoGP: Rossi's love for London, anger at bombings.

THURSDAY 21ST JULY 2005

At a time when Londoners are facing what looks like being their second wave of terrorist attacks in just over two-weeks, four-times reigning MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi - a resident of the capital since 2000 - has spoken of his own anger at the original 7/7 attacks.

Rossi was in London only yesterday to meet with the British press, Crash.net included, at an Italian restaurant near Marble Arch, where the topic of the previous bombings in his adopted home city was raised.

"Maybe now everywhere in the world is dangerous, for sure I live here so now everyone is more scared," said Valentino, who went on to stress that, while he was worried by what had happened, he had no intentions of moving.

And was he angry? "Yes for sure. Everybody feels angry - maybe more than angry - but it is like this," shrugged Vale, who confessed that he had already been too afraid to use the tube system: "It is better outside."

Nevertheless, Rossi was keen to point out the many pleasures of living in London.

"You have all the world in one city. Lots of good restaurants with different types and styles. It is also a good place at night," he said. "I hope I will live here a lot longer. I always enjoy it. It is my place. I have no plans to go."

And has his life in London changed much since 2000, when Rossi was starting his first year in the then 500cc class?

"It has changed a little bit but not very much, everybody is very polite. If people recognise me there is no big problem they just say 'Valentino you are the number one' and finish," he replied. "I can do normal things like go for a walk, go shopping, go to the restaurant without any big problems."

Dani Pedrosa and Carlos Checa are among the other Motorcycle Grand Prix riders who live in London.

the bombers are fucking stupid, of all the city's in the world to try to intimidate by blowing stuff up they picked london england? the city that was bombed by the luftwaffe for how many nights straight?

after that, I don't think you're gonna scare to many people by blowing up a bus or 2.

the news articles are saying that people in the next car down on the subway wheren't even stopping before going to work, just go to work, clean the rubble off in the bathroom and carry on with there day. Sure sounds terrorized to me

HAIL TO THE KING!!

i think the rest of the world should just get midevil on all of the fuckers. kill all of them dont waste the time or the $ on trials. if you are hanging out with them you die. if you support them financially you die if you harbor them you die, if you support them in any way shape or form. you die.

Have you ever even been to London?
It's an absolutely amazing city, it's like NY, Toronto and Sydney all rolled into one (except for the good weather) and it's no more dirty than any other majotr urban centre. Fuck dude, I'm in China, you ain't even seen dirty until you've been to the 'small' cities here

I lived in London when i was sixteen for 1 year, just seemed dirty at the time. But than i think all big citys are kind of dirty overcrowded septic tanks. I like the country, wide open spaces, clean air, few people.

Yeah I can imagine China Is pretty filthy

Man, you can't imagine...I'm with you on the country and the wide open spaces. Guess I'm in the wrong spot though. 1.3 billion people...
I still can't get my head around how people act here, garbage in your hand? Toss it in the street. Garbage in your house ? Toss it out the window. Kids want to take a pee? Go right ahead, right in the street.
They don't fit the kids with diapers where I am, instead they have these trousers that have no ass in them so when the kid wants to go...the kid just goes.

Prevents nappy rash i suppose.

In the other thread he said he chose London over Italy because in Italy he gets mobbed everywhere he goes. While that may be fun for a day I'm sure it would get old.
