MotoGPracing The 08-09's have there ignition timing set to 35 deg. Little low compared to the older models. Some peeps have retro fitted an older cdi, Sportisimoto USA < Has a couple CDI units made by BRT. One fully programable, and the other non-program with two maps. Map 1 39deg & map 2 At 41deg. We picked up the non-program one, seems to work really nice. Of course 6 deg advance is pretty awesome. Anyway, fit's real nice in the stock location. One cable tie to hold it in place, and another around that one to keep the unit from sliding forward.

All Kawi's look best in green
Sorry, but i have to disagree with that. The new body style is ok in green. But the older style is much better if its not green. I just bought a blue 07 250. Was sold on the new body style after only seeing the old one in green. Looks a ton better in the other colors.
But congrats on the new purchase!

MotoGPracing Forgot to mention, Corbin seat came in a couple weeks ago. Is really nice on your butt, also wife said she could only touch ground with the front of her feet. Now she is flat footed, so big plus for short people

Corbin wanted sales tax from us in FL. Found JCmotors, they gave me one hell of a deal. So check them out & save lots of $$$$.

I did go through some exhausts on it due to accidents... 1st I had a Yosh full system... then when that one rusted all out, I put a full Muzzy.

Needless to say... all they were good for were the sound, IMO. I wouldn't spend the money on a full if the slipons get the sound job done... pretty hard to get any meaningfull power out of that little mill with a full sys.
BAck in the day I first had a 1987 250 ninja (UGLY) and wrecked it in a corner. 1week later I had a 1991 250 and I put on a full Yoshi system. I had it for over a year and blew up the motor trying to keep up with some 600's and did 117 mph and toast went the motor. While it was in the shop getting a rebuild I picked up a 1991 CBR600F2 and never back to a 250....Untill I got my Wife an 2002 which she had for 2 weeks and she totaled hers. Geez thoes poor 250 ninjas sure get a beatin for novice riders.

PCP Have you seen the yosh pipes for these bikes? My girl bought one not too long ago and I put it on for her, nice pipe... it sounds.... ... interesting.

Still have to get rid of that horrid rear fender though.

Checked air box, it's open. The brake bracket was pinching the hose, I fixed that. So far thats the only two for ours.

Yeah, I was just thinking about my comment and it's running lean, not rich.

I heard bad things like how hard it is to tune Dynojets but tell you the truth I had just as much trouble tuning the Factory Pro jetkits--I spent a good month tuning my pre-08 to near perfection.

Initially I didn't think the Area-P was as loud as my 2bros on my pre-08 but after today's ride to work on the freeway and side streets I gotta say...it's pretty damn loud! It's got a deep rumble grunt to it unlike Yoshi's high pitch, girl screamin', megaphone. No pun intended.

Wait, isn't that 250 your wife's and not yours?

RiderChick RECALL!!!

Ninja 250R Brake Hose bracket and air cleaner case.

when the front fork is compressed, the brake hose may move forward and come in contact with the edge of the front fork. this can cause damage to the brake hose resulting in brake fluid leakage, creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death. An engine crank case vent hole in the air cleaner case could be blocked by material left durin the molding process. this could allow air pressure to build up in the engine and cause the cylinder head cover gasket to be pushed out of place and leak oil. DO NOT RIDE YOUR NINJA 250R UNTIL THE REPAIR HAS BEEN COMPLETED.

Get your bikes checked!!!!!

No, I haven't purchased the jet kit yet. I'll do that this week. And you're right, the moment I rode the bike after installing the Area P F/S, I could feel the bike running rich.

I also want to upgrade the air filter, but I had heard the stock air box can't be removed but the air filter can. Not sure if that's wise to do and if there's an aftermarket air filter for the 250R.

True but the Area P's map is pretty impressive compared to that of Yoshi's. Besides, the cost of the Area P Full was very close to that of Yoshi's slip-on.
